tracey_mcdermott_1Tracey McDermott, RDH, received her dental hygiene degree from Camden County College in 1990, where she was awarded for academic achievement by the South Jersey Dental Association.  She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Pennsylvania and is a graduate of the Institute of Integrative Nutrition in New York.

McDermott began work in an established multi-specialty practice, working for Hahnemann Hospital’s in-house dental clinic, as well as serving under the Dean of Penn Dental Medicine as a clinical research hygienist, assessing and providing periodontal care to pregnant women. She has served as a public health hygienist for St. Christopher’s Hospital, where she conducted an oral health literacy program in local elementary schools, as well as providing clinical care on a mobile dental unit to children who had no other access to care. McDermott has also served as adjunct clinical instructor at the Community College of Philadelphia, as well as the Trustee and Vice President for the Philadelphia component of the Pennsylvania Dental Hygienist’s Association.

 As a dental hygienist at deme, McDermott uses her extensive experience to create a personalized dental hygiene regimen for patients based on individual assessments and needs. She is also a certified holistic health counselor and provides nutritional counseling services upon request.
