Welcome Jennifer Troped, LE!

Having enjoyed a successful 20 year career as a licensed dental hygienist, Jen refocused her professional goals and was certified as an aesthetician in 2014.  Her passion for aesthetics coupled with an unwavering commitment to spectacular patient care is what brought her to deme.

Jen came to deme from a large Main Line Dermatology practice. She specializes in Laser Hair Removal, Pixel, Micro Needling, IPL, Microdermabrasion, Dermaplaning and Chemical Peels

Jen has an aesthetics certificate from The Jean Madeline Aveda Institute as well as a Bachelors’ degree from Northeastern University and an Associates’ degree in Dental Hygiene from Harcum College.

Although Skin Cancer Awareness Month was in May, there’s never a time to stop protecting yourself. Did you know that skin cancer is the most common of ALL cancers? More than 3.5 million skin cancers are diagnosed each year in the United States. Don’t be a statistic. When you hit the outdoors this summer, remember to wear a hat and sunglasses, and don’t forget to take breaks in the shade. What in the World is Kohlrabi?

kohlrabi-silo-007It seems that a new, trendy vegetable pops up every few months nowadays, and the most recent one to be making waves is kohlrabi. The versatile veggie is a member of the cabbage family; it resembles a turnip but has a taste similar to broccoli. The outer bulbs tend to be purple or a light green while the inside is typically light green or white.

If you spot kohlrabi at your local market, give it a try! Look for firm bulbs with fresh green leaves, and store in a bottom drawer of your refrigerator. Kohlrabi is a perfect addition to any salad and can be eaten cooked or raw. We recommend peeling the outermost layer of the bulb, chopping into long, thing pieces, and tossing into a salad. Drizzle with extra virgin olive oil and sea salt, and enjoy!
